Villages of Van Buren have hosted hundreds of group travelers over the years. We strive to make sure these travelers leave us with fond memories about the wonderful day that they have just experienced in our Villages.
We would like to invite your group to come experience the Villages of Van Buren!We make it easy for you! "One call covers it all!" Give us your date(s). . . and we do the rest. We will provide you with a Day Trip to Remember Itinerary that highlights our most popular attractions or perhaps you may prefer to experience one of our themed itineraries such as the new "Tour the Villages, HOBO Style." This themed itinerary will take guests back to the days when Hobo's roamed the rails! You'll have a great time with your guide dressed as a Hobo! Each stop will have "signs in secret Hobo language" for our guests to figure out, and each guest will have a special "Hobo Name" that they'll use for the day. At the end of your journey you'll gather around the campfire for "Hobo-style" songs and a pot of Mulligan Stew with all the fixin's in the beautiful surroundings of Morris Park..
If you'd like to do more than one day, we can take care of that too with our "Stay with Us" Itinerary which includes our most popular attractions along with some historic and unique barns! We can accommodate groups at Hotel Manning located along the Des Moines River in downtown Keosauqua or we have several quaint B&B's within minutes of each other that can also accommodate groups. The Bonaparte Inn located in the Bonaparte National Historic District, has 13 spacious rooms, Mason House Inn, just 5 minutes away, in the National Historic District of Bentonsport has 9 rooms.
Our restaurants are no strangers to hosting large groups for lunch & dinner! Typically our itineraries include Bonaparte Retreat, Bridge Café & Supper Club and/or Village Cup & Cakes. A Fall Foliage tour may include a catered hot lunch in the new River Valley Lodge in Farmington or perhaps the historic stone lodge in Lacey-Keosauqua State Park. We also have special "dinner-theater" type meals that are offered in the historic Old Mill (Addie May Fudge Factory & Ol' Mill Antiques) in Bonaparte. .
Special events are sure to make "special" memories. We host numerous events throughout the year. Our Barn Tour is an extremely popular event! The Barn Tour Itinerary includes physically touring at least 6 barns. Step-on guides well-versed with Barn History, and the actual Barn owner will point out unique architectural features as well as the history of each structure. Christmas in the Villages is held the first full weekend of December and is always a favorite for groups! The Christmas in the Villages Itinerary allows guests to start their holiday gift shopping in Villages decorated for the season and enjoy a stroll through the Festival of Trees.
